2010 sees Bournemouth celebrate its 200th year.

A year-long programme of celebrations will take place, with events and activities across the town. Planning is at an early stage, but already there is already a long list of community events, from school competitions to theatre productions, Scout and Guide activities to natural history events, food festivals and dance contests, all wanting to be included in the Bournemouth 200 programme.

The town’s Bicentenary celebrations will very much be owned by the people of Bournemouth. This is a unique opportunity for people of all ages and from all communities, whatever their interests, to get involved.
