Thats just the way I renmember it from 1957 - 1958. Love your town.

The West Beach and West Cliff seen from the pier. The highest building on the
left is The Highcliff Hotel[big white building entrance St Michaels Rd] which is
still there.At the left hand end of The Highcliff is a darker building [ not too
clear], this was The Tollard Royal Hotel now converted into the Tollard Court
flats [ entrance in West Hill Rd ]. In the upper centre of the photo is a
terrace of buildings that are now part of the Highcliff. Everything else is gone
, the hotels on the rh side having been replaced by the Bournemouth
International Centre [bic] in 1984.
The buildings on the prom still exist
except the rh end has been replaced by the Oceanarium.
