There doesn't appear to have been much change at The Lansdowne at all. Replace
the tram with a Yellow Bus and it's pretty much there!

We are stood at the Lansdowne looking into Old Christchurch Rd, Bath Rd is
left.
The left handside building was the Queen Hotel. The building still exists
and is easily recognised despite alterations to the roofline. The lower floor is
now occupied by a restaurant called Ask. The arches supported by columns
around the entrance are worth a closer inspection as they are rather ornate
.There are many postcards and photographs featuring The Lansdowne of the past
but it is so interesting to get up close and have a look at the actual buildings
as they still exist. Bournemouth may be a relatively new town but there is
plenty of history to be discovered.
The building on the right handside was
originally the Lansdowne Hotel and is now the Irish pub O'Neill's. The building
itself was built in approx 1860 and is amongst the oldest still remaining in the
town.
